April 16th, 2026

I went on a trip to Hawaii and wasn’t really able to day trade while I was there. I do wish I had traded because last week and early this week had some big opportunities. The market moved up significantly, and I missed a lot of those moves.

Of course, the day I got back, the market turned choppy and I ended up losing money. It’s frustrating because I feel like I should be way up, but I’m not.

At the same time, it confirms that my strategy works. I just need to show up and execute every day.

Day 5 Travel Poster

MNQ Chart

I’m going to show the previous days’ charts without reviewing them, but if you go back and look, you’ll see they would have all been winning days. I’ll focus on a full breakdown of Day 5, Thursday, April 16. It was a rough day from the start and ended as a loss after a strong stretch of winning days.

At 7:00 AM, the setup was bearish with MACD trending down and price below VWAP. Both contracts lost 13.25 each.

The second trade came shortly after and resulted in a small loss of 1.25 on both contracts.

The third trade followed quickly and turned into another false breakout, losing 10.25 on both contracts. Three trades within an hour made for a tough start.

The fourth trade came soon after, close to the open, and was another false breakout. This one hurt more, with a loss of 34.50 on each contract.

The fifth trade was a win of 48.25, then price pulled back to the entry for an immediate close. It also presented an opportunity to re-enter at that level. That situation is a bit confusing and frustrating in real time, but I understood what was happening.

I took the sixth trade, which was also a win, with 56.75 on one contract and 5 points on the second.

The seventh trade was another tough one, with a larger loss of 52.50 on each contract due to a false breakout.

The eighth trade was a solid win and lasted longer, producing 75.75 on the first contract and 65.75 on the runner.

The final trade of the day was another loss, with 62 on each contract.

Overall, it was a rough day and frustrating after such a strong week with no losing days. It reinforces the importance of showing up and trading consistently with this strategy every day.
