August 10th, 2026
I took last Thursday and Friday off from trading so I could refine my strategy and do some additional backtesting. One of the biggest things I discovered was that my win rate was noticeably lower when I traded during premarket hours. Because of that, I decided there was really no reason to continue trading premarket and will focus on the regular market session going forward.
I continued backtesting through Monday, but Monday still got off to a rough start, even after the market opened. Unfortunately, the day ended as a loss.
Going forward, I may make additional tweaks to the strategy, but I don’t see a reason to change anything until I’ve properly backtested those ideas first. I want any adjustments I make to be supported by the data rather than reacting to a single losing day.
MNQ Chart

Only two trades today and both losses.
First trade came right at open and was an immediate loss of -60 for each contract.
Second trade was the next back and also a loss of -46 for each contract.
Two losses and hit my stop loss so I ended the day. The rest of the day was not very good anyways.
