This week I’ll be featuring a series of Nice, France–inspired vintage travel posters, inspired by my recent trip to the French Riviera, where I spent the week practicing my French.

From a trading perspective, the week wasn’t overly difficult, although as you’ll see in the coming posts, conditions became much more challenging later on. It was also an FOMC week, which added an extra layer of volatility and made trading more frustrating than usual.

Despite a few nervous decisions on my part, I finished the week profitable. Looking back, there were some valuable lessons in managing emotions and sticking to my plan—especially when the market became less predictable.

MNQ Chart

My first trade came before the market opened and resulted in a loss of 23.25 points on each contract.

The second trade performed much better, gaining 70 points on the first contract, while the runner was stopped out for just 5 points.

The next setup was the strongest trade of the day. The first contract gained 88 points, and I allowed the runner to continue for an additional 106 points.

After that, no other high-quality setups appeared, so I stayed out of the market. Overall, it was a profitable day and a great way to begin my trip.
