A New Month, A New Look
Welcome to November! I’ve changed my MNQ chart colors to shades of brown, and I’m planning to introduce a new color scheme every month.
The trading day started quietly. There were no valid morning setups, as price had already slammed into the second VWAP band. I stayed out and waited for better opportunities.
Four Trades, Four Wins
My first trade came at 9:20 AM and delivered 31 points on the first contract and 5 points on the runner.
The second trade arrived at 10:25 AM, producing a fractal target win of 17 points plus 5 on the runner. Another opportunity followed at 11:05 AM, giving me 20 points plus 5.
The fourth trade required a little more patience. Price initially slammed into the second VWAP band, so I correctly avoided entering. When the trend continued and another valid setup appeared, I entered and secured another 41 points plus 5 on the runner.
Four trades. Four wins. Everything was going according to plan.
The Trade I Didn’t Take
And then I made the same mistake again.
A fifth valid setup appeared, and I could see it developing. But instead of following my strategy, I hesitated.
My thinking was simple: Surely five winning trades in a row can’t happen.
Except they absolutely can.
I skipped the trade, and naturally, it turned out to be the biggest opportunity of the day. The first contract would have captured 43 points, while the runner had the potential to capture an incredible 315 points.
Instead of what I estimated could have been an $800 day, I finished with a much smaller profit.
The Lesson: Stop Second-Guessing
What frustrates me most is that I knew the trade was valid. I wasn’t confused about the indicators or the setup. I was simply afraid of giving back my profits.
That’s the mentality I need to overcome.
The market doesn’t care whether I’ve won four trades in a row. Each valid setup deserves to be evaluated on its own merits, not on how many trades I’ve already taken.
November started with four winning trades, but it also exposed the same psychological weakness I’ve been struggling with.
My goal isn’t to trade perfectly or win every time. It’s to execute every valid setup according to my rules, accept the outcome, and stop allowing fear to make my decisions.
Four out of five isn’t bad. But when the fifth trade was valid, I should have taken it.
Total Profit: $137.80
