Day 77 was really the beginning of the new strategy I started developing last week. I didn’t follow through on every trade, but that’s okay. A lot of the opportunities were happening in the middle of the range anyway, and looking back, that was probably a good area to avoid.

For most of the day, the market was trending lower, and I still managed to finish positive. What really stood out to me, though, were the two sharp spikes in the middle of the day that quickly slammed back down. That’s exactly the kind of price action that can happen when you’re trading too close to VWAP and around the middle Fibonacci levels. It can look like a breakout for a moment, only to reverse almost immediately.

This was one of the days that really started making me question whether trading the middle of the range was worth it at all. Since then, I’ve moved away from doing that, and I think that has made the strategy cleaner and more selective.

I finished the day up $90.90, so overall it was still a solid result. I’m definitely not disappointed with it, especially considering some of the bigger opportunities I ended up missing the following week. More than anything, this day helped push me toward a better rule: stay away from the middle and wait for cleaner setups.

Total Profit: $90.90
