August 21st, 2026

All right, we’re going to cover two days back-to-back since I didn’t make a post for August 21st.

I really didn’t trade much that day. It was more of a “whatever” kind of day, and looking back at the charts, I’m not upset that I stayed out because the setups really weren’t that great.

There was a potential trade on the MNQ, but the trades basically would have canceled each other out, so there really wasn’t much opportunity there.

There was also a possible trade on the MES, but price never actually reached the “nothing line,” so by my rules, it probably wouldn’t have been a trade in the first place.

Oil had a similar situation. There was potentially a small profitable trade, but it wasn’t anything significant, and once you factor in fees, it probably would have ended up close to breakeven anyway.

So overall, August 21st was basically a wash. There weren’t any clean setups or meaningful opportunities, and I’m definitely not mad that I didn’t trade. Sometimes staying out is the right decision, and this was probably one of those days.
