Let’s be honest: today was another fucking rough day. It sucked.

I’m getting frustrated with starting a new strategy, diving in, and immediately running into days like this. It’s becoming ridiculous. Why can’t I get one easy day—or, better yet, one solid week—to build up some money before the market decides to put me through the wringer?

The market has been brutal lately. It simply hasn’t been fun to trade.

There were a lot of trades today, which is usually what happens on a bad, choppy day. The frustrating part is that you never know it’s going to be that kind of day until you’re already in it.

The first setup didn’t appear until 9:25, and it immediately lost around 72 to 75.

The next trade was strange. It reached the target on one contract for +24, then slammed back down and stopped the other for -24.

The following trade also reached my line, but once again, there was no follow-through. It gave me +57 on the first contract and +27 on the second before reversing.

That was when everything became extremely choppy.

The next trade lost 40 on each contract. After that, I had one contract win 27 while the other lost 10. Then came a string of consecutive losses: -40 on both contracts, -25 on both, -19 on both, and -32 on both. The final trade was break-even.

By the end of the day, I was down nearly $700.

This is my strategy. I’ve tested it and backtested it, and I know days like this are part of trading. That doesn’t make them any easier—especially when I’m trying to build my account and these are the days that keep showing up.

The hardest part isn’t believing in the strategy. It’s surviving the days when its edge doesn’t show up.

Today was one of those days.

It was rough. It was expensive. And no, it wasn’t nice at all.
