August 4th, 2026

Today was a much better trading day, although I made a mistake right off the bat. I caught it fairly quickly and exited the trade, but not before it put me down about $121. Going forward, I want to test whether I should avoid entering trades when the CMI panel is showing a red candle and price is already moving lower. I think I also need to be more aware when the market becomes active right at 7:00 a.m., as those early setups require extra attention.

I definitely count this as a mistake, and I’ll include it in my results since I took the trade when I shouldn’t have. Even though I corrected it, it’s still an important lesson.

Overall, though, today was much easier to trade. Once the early mistake was behind me, price moved up cleanly and never hit any of my stop-losses. Days like this are a good reminder that sticking to the plan and learning from small mistakes can make a big difference over time.

The first trade came right at 7:00 a.m., and it was a mistake that cost me $121. Looking back at the chart, it simply wasn’t a valid entry, but I took it anyway. It’s a good reminder that even small lapses in discipline can have an immediate impact.

The second entry came at 8:30 a.m., and this one played out exactly as the strategy intended. Price rallied almost immediately after entry. It took some time to reach the initial profit target, but once it did, the trend continued higher. This trade is a perfect example of why I always keep a trailing runner contract. While the first contract locks in profits, the runner allows me to stay in strong trends and capture the larger moves that can make a significant difference to my overall results.

Total Profit: $1,219.60
