April 30th, 2026

It is the end of the month, and it was another devastating day. I am not sure if I need to explore a different strategy, but the past two weeks have been difficult and the drawdown has been frustrating. If I had traded consistently throughout the entire month, I likely would have finished positive, so that is at least something to take away. Still, April has been by far the worst month to trade, which is very discouraging. I do not think I will abandon my strategy, but I am feeling pretty down about it right now.

MNQ Chart

I started with a morning trade that was positive, but my entry and exit were not as clean as they should have been. It ended up being about a 52.50 point move, with a 25 point win.

After that, price became extremely volatile and dropped quickly at the open. This highlights a weakness in my system. When price moves too fast, I struggle to catch the move. I entered after the MACD turned down to red, but it was clearly too late. Price reversed immediately and resulted in a loss of 106 points for each contract. That one really hurt.

Price stayed relatively quiet for a while, and it was not until around 11 am, when it moved above VWAP, that another trade set up. I managed to exit that trade for a small win, but it easily could have turned into a loss. Then around 12 pm, the MACD flipped red again, but price reversed and continued upward instead. Very frustrating.

I entered another trade around 1 pm, but it was near the top and did not result in any meaningful profit.

Days and weeks like this are tough, and this has been one of the worst stretches I have experienced. I really wish I had traded consistently from April 13 onward.

Total Profit: $-373.44
