I love cold, comfort and dramatic scenery; so of course I’m all about ski resorts. One of my favorite winter activities is to ski (not a huge snowboarder) and I have this strange obsession with mountains, frigid temperatures, and charming mountain villages. So I decided to compile a list of the most scenic ski resorts in the world, some of which I’ve skiied at myself! I can’t wait to travel to some of these other ski resorts and marvel at some of the most stunning views on this planet.
Heavenly, California, USA
Getting to hop 2 states (Nevada & California) on skis should be reason enough to go but the dramatic views are what make Heavenly Ski Resort. The runs at Heavenly are more challenging with mostly intermediate runs. Website to book.
Shiga Kogen, Japan
Shiga Kogen is located in on the western side of Japan, known for being snowy with dramatic views. Shiga Kogen delivers with runs from beginner to advance and mostly uncrowded runs. More info.
Whistler Blackcomb, British Columbia, Canada
This is Vancouver’s première ski resort and one of the top ski resorts in the world because of the quality of snow and some of the most dramatic views in the Canadian Rockies. Ski, sled, tube or snowboard; Whistler should always be considered at the top of your list. Website to book.
Grindelwald, Switzerland
Switzerland is just full of scenic landscapes but perhaps there is none more dramatic than at Grindelwald. Skiiers and snowboarders are met with wonderful snow, charming Swiss Villages and some of the best skiing in the world. Website to book.
Valle Nevado,Chile
South America only has a few resorts but perhaps the most beautiful ones lie between Argentina and Chile. Valle Nevado has reasonable skiing prices with astounding views making it one of the most popular ski resorts in South America.Website to book.
Zermatt, Switzerland
Zermatt is perhaps located near one of the most recognizable landmarks in all of Europe, making it one of the most desirable locations to ski. If you’re looking for a better ski experience it would be hard to find a better place than Zermatt. Website to book.
Alta, Utah, USA
This is one of the few resorts that doesn’t allow snowboarders perhaps making Alta Ski Resort a lesser known ski resort. However the views and the quality of the snow will keep skiiers coming back. Website to book.
Sun Valley, Idaho, USA
Sun Valley is located in a secluded mountain city in Idaho and is known for its open feeling with little trees. It’s certainly unique and is a less known ski resort, making it more desirable for people looking to get away from crowds. Website to book.
The Remarkables, New Zealand
The Remarkables is located in one of the most beautiful regions of New Zealand, near Queenstown. Much of the park is above the tree line which gives skiiers and snowboarders views for miles and miles. Website to book.

This is Frances best known and perhaps the most scenic ski resort in the world. The benefit of skiing this iconic mountain is the wonderful views but also a chance to view the nearby glacier Argentiere Glacier. Website to book.
Lake Louise, Alberta, Canada
Lake Louise is like the Alberta equivalent to Whistler in British Columbia. Located in the Canadian Rockies, Lake Louise offers skiiers and snowboarders some of the most dramatic views in Canada and probably less crowded than Whistler. Website to book.
Alyeska, Alaska, USA
One of the more unknown ski resorts because it’s in Alaska, however Alyeska offers skiiers and snowboarders some of the most stunning views. If you can manage to flight and the cold there will be plenty of quality snow and gorgeous views! Website to book.
