In this guide, I research some of the top men’s travel pants in 2019. I’m covering some of the basics and reasons why you need a certain type of pants for your travels. For the majority, a basic chino or jeans will work perfectly fine but if you’re looking for more ideas and style, read below. I’m leaving off jeans entirely in this post as everybody has their favorite pair of jeans and it’s pretty universal for travel.

Chinos

Why Chinos? For me, chinos are the most versatile type of men’s travel pants to wear, even more than jeans. They are just easy to wear and the fact that most brands sell them in different colors. I also like that brands are starting to use stretch material which makes traveling with them in all different situations easy. They are stylish, easy to wear, and a great first choice as travel pants.

Hybrid Pants

I call these hybrid pants because they are somewhat casual but still stylish enough to wear on flights, or while doing something casual. Because travel can be uncomfortable I do feel a pair of pants that help you relax are essential. Sitting on planes you want a pair of men’s travel pants that are relaxing and not tight or bunching your jewels.

Linen Pants

I’m obsessed with linen because many places you travel will be hot. Linen allows your legs to breath but it also looks stylish and more refined. Linen doesn’t work everywhere but if you’re traveling to the Caribbean or hot destinations, try linen pants.

Active/Outdoor Pants

Think of your more rugged men’s travel pants, with an emphasis on utility more than style. I do think you can have a stylish hiking or ski pants but in general, you’re looking for more function rather than style. I don’t hike much but it’s a good idea to have pants that are ready for that type of activity. You can wear these types of pants on a safari, skiing or hiking.

The Fit

When I travel I like style with comfort because there is no point in wearing something all day that doesn’t feel right. So while you’re deciding on what to bring in your back make sure these clothes are comfortable to wear all day. Above are all good ideas to help you get started on your upcoming trip.
