Sometimes you can pick a perfect seat on a flight but then you are stuck sitting next to someone who is just plain awful. Story time… So once upon a time I was on a flight from Madrid, Spain to Marrakesh, Morocco and being that it was RyanAir I had to be at the airport very early. If I remember correctly the flight was at 6:00 in the morning. On RyanAir you can actually choose your seats so I decided to get a window seat since I love watching landings and takeoffs!

A Moroccan woman and her husband board the plane and she looked very frazzled. She is holding a baby and he is holding a baby and they are all over the place. They had to be in a rush because they were the last people to board the flight. So there happens to be an open seat right next to me and so the woman sits down really quickly and automatically hands me a water bottle that she is holding…. I kid you not… She hands me her water bottle without even asking me and all she says is “Merci!” (thank you in French) I stumble on my words and I think at first I’m like “uh ma’am um” and just sit there shocked… but she ignores me.

So there I am… holding her water bottle while she tries to calm down her child who at this point is screaming bloody murder. She eventually takes the water bottle back, we are leaving from the gate and I look at her with the “What is happening right now look?!?” I do kind of feel bad for her though because she is taking care of this child and trying to get him settled while her husband acts like nothing is going on. Like she doesn’t even exist…

Flight is already in the air but the baby has not stopped crying and it’s really, really early in the morning. The night before I had not gotten any sleep since I was out until like 1 in the morning and I had stayed at a hostel; it was just hard to sleep! So I am trying to block it out but a baby crying is very hard to actually ignore. I put in my headphones and I could still here it and all I really wanted to do is sleep but after a while it was clear that this was not going to happen…

Then the other child, that the father was holdings, starts touching my hair while I’m lying on the window…. lol. All you can do is laugh and actually that one wasn’t yelling or doing anything so I didn’t really care much. It was the child next to me that screamed the whole 2 hour flight…. I can even prove it! This video I’m going to show you is a 3 minute landing video of me landing in Marrakesh while the kid is on hour 2 of screaming. I also wanted to show y’all the beautiful morning I experienced while landing in Morocco!

So there is my story of a time when I tried but the situation was totally out of my hands. Remember this next time you travel…. You can’t control everything and sometimes you are stuck… Learn to accept whatever is situation handed to you and go from there… It will cause you less stress when you accept a situation you can’t change. Have you ever have any horror stories where a baby keeps you up on flights or something much worse?!? Make sure to leave a comment here or on my YouTube account and tell me about it!
